22. They spend time under the dining room table counting the rainbow-colored PCS stickers.

23. They are the kids who always say “yes ma’am” to their mommas.

25. They understand that birthdays and other holidays don’t always have to be celebrated on the “exact day.”

26. As adults, they can mark their childhoods historically by recalling where they lived at the time instead of how old they were.

27. They don’t realize that some people actually OWN homes!

28. They never have to worry about someone in high school remembering what they looked like, said, or did in the awkward fourth grade.

29. Without actually knowing what the initials stand for, they are aware of the existence and meaning of every military acronym, and frequently use them in a sentence.

30. They call the bathroom “the head” and morning pillow wrinkles “rack burn” and can respond in a crowded room to their parents’ “pull chocks” hand signal.

31. They think all men in uniform are “Daddy” or “Mommy” when they are two!

32. They have pretend ID Cards for when they play “commissary” and for pretending they are coming in the gate.

33. They have money collected from every country their service member parent has been to.

34. When you tell them it’s time for another deployment they say, “That’s OK.”

35. They love their military moms and dads unconditionally!
