This December 2, 2025, marks the sixth year of Giving Tuesday Military (GTM)—a growing movement that continues to prove one simple truth: when the military community leads with kindness, the world follows.
Born from a spark of compassion in 2019, Giving Tuesday Military began with a goal to create one million acts of kindness in a single day. That goal was not only met—it was doubled. What started as a few military spouses rallying their local communities has since become a global effort spanning all 50 states and multiple countries, inspiring millions to serve, share, and give back.
Each year, the movement grows stronger. Through partnerships with the Inspire Up Foundation and the global Giving Tuesday campaign, GTM has united service members, veterans, families, and civilians to perform acts of generosity—large and small—that strengthen communities everywhere. From food drives and care package collections to kindness walks and volunteer events, this initiative continues to turn gratitude into tangible good.
A Legacy of Giving
Since its founding, Giving Tuesday Military has logged:
- Over 10 million acts of kindness worldwide
- Tens of thousands of volunteer hours supporting veterans, first responders, and families in need
- Countless local events and service projects hosted by ambassadors across the nation
Every story, every gesture, and every smile adds to a movement that honors the service, sacrifice, and spirit of the military community.
How You Can Volunteer This Year
The heart of GTM has always been action. No matter where you live or serve, there’s a way to get involved. Here are a few meaningful ways to join the sixth-year celebration:
1. Become a Local Ambassador
Sign up through the Inspire Up Foundation to coordinate kindness events in your area—whether it’s hosting a volunteer project, partnering with a school, or organizing donations for a local nonprofit.
2. Volunteer in Your Community
Participate in projects that support your local installation, veteran groups, or shelters. Collect care packages, cook meals for deployed families, or volunteer your time with a community organization that supports military-connected families.
3. Rally Your Workplace or Unit
Encourage your company, command, or spouse club to sponsor a service day or kindness challenge. Small acts, done together, create lasting impact.
4. Give Back Digitally
Can’t volunteer in person? Spread kindness online. Highlight local heroes, share resources for military families, or donate to nonprofits that align with GTM’s mission of connection and compassion.
5. Bring the Family
GTM is about teaching the next generation what service looks like. Include your children—make kindness cards, bake cookies for first responders, or help deliver donations to neighbors in need.
