Katy Perry sits in awe as 18 year old Jurnee dedicates her American Idol Showcase performance to her wife Ashley, a soldier in the U.S. Army. Perry cannot believe this young milspouse possesses such a mature and powerful voice. As Jurnee belts out Loren Allred’s “Never Enough,” Ashley is brought to tears by her wife’s talent and the love she exudes from the stage.
Ashley and Jurnee’s story began much like any other military couple. There was an instant connection when they met. Shortly after they began dating, Ashley proposed by a breathtaking waterfall and soon after that they wed.
“Ashley is set to deploy soon,” said Jurnee. “I’m so proud of her, because there are a lot of people who wouldn’t be able to go out there and do that…I know I wouldn’t be able to go out there and do that.”
Jurnee, who currently resides in Colorado, has been singing since she was two years old. “My wife is a huge supporter of my singing,” she said. “She really helped me find myself…it’s given me the chance to change my entire life and hopefully inspire someone else.”
