Money and time are two of the biggest obstacles to reaching your educational goals

But, the benefits of earning your degree – financial security, more job options, promotion opportunities, personal growth, professional skills – are too important for you and your family to ignore.

For 50 years, Central Michigan University has made quality degrees accessible to military families. We understand the unique needs of military spouses who want or need to contribute to the family income. We are here to help you reach that goal.

We have a wide selection of degrees offered online that can save you time and money. If you have to relocate, we go with you. One transfer to CMU and you are set through graduation.

New scholarships for transfer students

We understand that you may have credits from other universities, places where you didn’t get the support you’ll find at CMU. Here we offer transfer scholarships to our online students:

  • Full-time students can earn up to $10,500 over three years if you have a 3.5 cumulative college GPA and a minimum of 24 earned credits.
  • Part-time students can earn up to $3,000 over three years if you have a 3.0 cumulative college GPA and a minimum of 12 earned credits.

Transfer credit for students with an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree

Our Enhanced Transfer Credit Pathways is a transfer-friendly way for you to enter CMU with all your University Program requirements completed including the six credits of your writing intensive requirement. It applies to:

Prior Learning Credit

You can receive credit for life and work experiences. This is an excellent way to get credit for what you have already learned. You document any prior training that relates to your degree. If it matches outcomes for your program, you earn credits at a substantially reduced rate. You can earn up to 60 credit hours of your bachelor’s degree this way and save thousands of dollars.

Active-duty military tuition rate and Federal employee tuition rate apply to military spouses

Spouses of active-duty military qualify for our military tuition rate. Spouses of DoD and other Federal employees qualify for a 15% savings on tuition for courses taken online.

Don’t waste any more time transferring courses or retaking classes to satisfy the requirements at a new university. Move to online classes at CMU and we’ll support you every step of the way from first questions through graduation and beyond.

Join our more than 235,000 CMU alumni who have used their CMU degrees to build their careers and help support their families.

Contact Central Michigan University at 877-268-4636 or [email protected] and find the program that’s right for you.
