But I never would have become a published author if it weren’t for the support of my beloved husband and sister. That has become my primary lesson in life: it is my job to love and support others as they learn, grow, and sometimes have to endure.

It was my job to help these characters grow and ultimately triumph over the challenges Life throws their way. The Fox is quite a guy, and it will take quite a guy to change Frankie Bumgarten’s mind about marriage. Their story takes them from a darkened kitchen to a Society ballroom to a stormy English Channel crossing and to the Eifel Tower in Paris. Along the way, I hope you’ll be immersed, as I was, in Victorian life and the joy of dawning love.
My own military connections? My dad was a WW II vet who served in the South Pacific… Army Air Corp. My brother-in-law was a helicopter pilot in Viet Nam and was decorated twice, once for cutting his own landing strip with his chopper blades in order to rescue troops. He was Army all the way.
But recently, I learned that my late husband’s great aunt was a nurse in France during WW 1. We now have a picture of her in her uniform and photocopies of the postcard she sent home to say she arrive safely in France. My niece also has the “nurse’s watch” she wore when she was there… with a second hand that let her take pulses.
