4. An Officer and a Gentlemen (1982)
The Gist: This movie is at times both a romance and a coming of age story centering around Zack Mayo, a young man who enlists in the Navy Aviation Officer Candidate School and needs to make some big decisions about what he wants out of life.
Weep-O-Meter: Sneaky sniffles. This movie is full of happy moments but it will catch you off guard with moments of poignant tragedy so keep the tissue box handy just in case.
