3. American Sniper (2014)
The Gist: The true story of Navy Seal Chris Kyle’s life, this movie will hit a little too close to home for many military spouses out there in it’s portrayal not just of the heroic feats accomplished by Chris Kyle, but also how his tours affected his wife (We love Taya Kyle – buy her book, American Wife, here) and family back home.
Weep-O-Meter: Don’t wear your mascara. It’s impossible not to be affected by this movie. It had me alternately on the edge of my seat in fear for Chris Kyle and curled around my box of tissues in commiseration with his wife’s tragic loss.
