If you are looking for a new podcast, Note To Herself might be the hour of honesty you didn’t know you needed.

Kia Young & Krystel Spell are the 40+ big sisters you didn’t know you needed. They share a Hot Flash (hot take), life’s luxuries and the nitty gritty where they say all the things we might be thinking, but on a hot mic. They share the revelation of being free to be themselves. They are seven plus episodes in and these honest conversations are insightful. The hosts contrasts make space for broad ideology, yet their commonalities transforms you into a conversation with familiar friends.

Krystel is a content OG and has been making waves before influencing was an industry. She is a digital media entrepreneur with over a decade of experience connecting brands with the military community through content, campaigns, and influencer marketing. As the creator of Army Wife 101 and co-founder of the first military spouse influencer network, she has partnered with 100+ household brands to amplify their military initiatives. She currently manages SoFluential Influencer Network, Retail Salute, and NextGenMilspouse.com — a suite of platforms serving modern military families and spouse entrepreneurs — bringing both professional expertise and personal experience as a military spouse to everything she does.

In the podcast Krystel brings unapologetic clarity, humor, and perspective from a life lived loudly and on her own terms.

Kia is the a strategic communications and marketing leader with 15+ years of experience, she works at the intersection of brand strategy, storytelling, and public impact — translating complex ideas into compelling narratives for mission-driven organizations.

Her background spans sales, digital strategy, brand development, and organizational leadership, including a defining role as Director of America Saves. Her expertise in personal finance and financial security has earned her features in Time, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and the Associated Press, as well as Congressional testimony on digital wallets and emerging financial tools. Today she continues her work leading research-driven campaigns focused on financial resilience for low- to moderate-income individuals, while also advising organizations through her consultancy, Compel Strategies, on brand positioning and strategic communications. on the podcast Kia brings this brilliance and vulnerably is rebuilding her voice after years of trauma and self-silencing.

This show is not for everyone. If you aren’t willing to hear a perspective different from your own, please bypass this podcast. These women are over 40, which to me is the coronation year ushering you into self awareness, optional filters and a lack of care for others opinions. Note to Herself is rooted in this realization in all the best ways. Also, if you aren’t willing not looking for the subtle nudge to prioritize yourself, you won’t appreciate the journey these ladies share. From twenty-year-old reflections of anxiety to the realities of growing apart in relationships, these women honor their experiences by supporting themselves in this season of life. These episodes don’t hold back on sharing experiences of hormone replacement , self care creams, and the necessary tension of protecting your peace while creating boundaries within your family and friendships so that you can thrive personally.

Each episode ends with a note to self. This is a therapeutic practice that I’ve done personally. It changes things and is worth the try. Listen to their notes with grace and kindness as we are getting a peak into the lives of maturing women loving themselves, forgiving themselves, and growing with an expectation of becoming a more aligned version of themselves in every season.

If you are looking to be a part of a community of women who are done editing themselves, then I encourage you to check out Note To Herself.
