6. Falling in love, again and again
And to me the biggest benefit of being a military spouse is that I get to fall in love, have first kisses, and first dates over and over again. Every time one of us returns from deployment, every time we manage to get leave and sneak off on a weekend away, we get to reconnect and remember just what it was that made us fall in love with each other. Through the stress of dual military careers, through the headache of every day life, we are reminded that our marriage is the bigger picture and the military is just a chapter in our life. We soak up every moment as if it’s going to be the last and nothing can replace the memories we get to make thanks to the military.
