59) “After my husband returned home from deployment we had decided to wait to have our first child, however, as luck would have it, I am pregnant and due in only a short months! We are so excited and cannot wait for a new chapter in our lives!”

58) “I’ve been married nearly 20 years and always stayed home with the kids. We got two dogs less than a year ago and I never knew the joy they would bring us. Now my husband is about to deploy and has been gone for a few months in another state to train. Not only have the dogs been my support system, they have brought me into a world where I am helping my trainer and thus giving me a dream job to occupy my time while my husband is gone. Who would have known in a million years that I would be so thankful for dogs?”

57) “Even though it is extremely hard, I’m thankful for being geographically separated from my husband because it allowed us to buy a new house, me to get a job, and our children to be close to their grandparents and other family they haven’t seen before.”

56) “Patience! The Navy has taught me patience this year… and I am so grateful!”

55) “Getting a great job and my husband landing new orders where I can continue working!”

54) “I am thankful for my in-laws. Being separated from my husband during boot camp has been so hard, but they have been my greatest support through this transition.”

53) “I am thankful that his deployment is his March and not in January.”

52) “Volunteer opportunities. Giving my time is a win-win situation!”

51) “We moved to an isolated duty station that I was not happy about, but we found that it actually put us within closer driving distance of family. When my husband’s sister was diagnosed with cancer, we were able to come and visit her more in the past year than in our whole 17 years of Navy life. We are so thankful for this duty station and the time we were able to spend with her before she went to be with the Lord.”

50) “Even though our family just went through a 14 month separation, my kids and I are closer to one another and that they are closer to each other. It was tough to have my husband deployed for so long but good things and blessings did come from it.”
