We are looking for talented Military Spouse writers and will be having open calls over the next several weeks! Our community is filled with so many talented men and women that we are having to limit the way in which you can submit your work…simply because we know there are so many of you who want to share with us! Each week there will be a time slot in which work may be submitted, and there will be very specific criteria which you must meet in order to share your writing with us. Please understand that this is not in any way meant to be unfair… we simply must limit submissions so we can have the time to give every one the consideration they deserve! If you do not fit the criteria this week, please check back next week for the next open call.
Get your submissions ready! This coming week we are looking for essays titled “My Military Wedding” and are from spouses who meet the following criteria:
*Must be married to a service member who is active duty, guard or reserves.
*We are looking for spouses (men and women) who have been married for six months or LESS!
Editors Note: Essays must be original pieces and can not be published on another website or in another publication. They should be between 300 – 600 words and be edited for grammar and spelling errors. Please indicate at the top of your essay if you have an original photo to go with your submission. We are looking for many different styles of writing. Personal stories, humor, inspirational… to name a few. We encourage you to think outside the box and be yourself in your writing!
Submissions will be accepted between 11:30 – 1:30 pm EST Monday, August 26th ONLY! NO EXCEPTIONS!

If your essay is chosen to be published on our site, your name will be announced on this page and on our Facebook Page no later than Wednesday morning, August 30th. Essays will be published at www.militaryspouse.com during the viewing of the live America’s Got Talent reveal show starting at 8:00 pm EST on NBC. Essays will be promoted through our social media channels; Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.
